Every minute, a woman dies in Childbirth in the Developing World. Twenty or more women experience serious complications and many are left with infections and severe disabilities everyday. majority of the people who are infected with HIV are Girls and Women . - half are under the age of 25 years. The wide spread of sexually transmitted Infections among Women could be attributed to inadequate health care and lack of information.

Everyone has the Right to enjoy reproductive health, which is a basis for having healthy Children, intimate relationships and happy Families. Reproductive Health encompasses key areas of our Organisation's vision.- that every Child is wanted, every birth is safe, every young person is free from sexually transmitted infections, and every girl and woman is treated with dignity and respect.

The continued success of Family planning programme is dependent upon their ability to maintain and extend services to women who need them. Today, more than 200 million women in Developing Countries desire to either limit or space their pregnancies, but lack access to contraceptives. For every additional $100 million provided for Family planning in the developing Countries, another 3.6 million Women will be able to access contraception.

Countless unplanned pregnancies, unsafe abortions and maternal and Child deaths will be prevented and the standard of living for women, as well as their families rise.

Ideally, reproductive health is the shared responsibility of both partners. In reality, women bear the Children, are most often the ones who use a contraceptive method, and are physically more susceptible to sexually transmitted diseases.

Reproductive health problems remain the leading cause of ill health for women of Childbearing age Worldwide. Impoverished women especially those living in developing Countries, suffer disproportionately from unintended pregnancies, maternal death and disability , sexually transmitted infections, gender-based violence and other problems related to their reproductive system and sexual behaviour.

Our Organisation support family planning, parental and postnatal care, treatment of the complications of unsafe abortions, and prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases. We support these services knowing that Women are the most vital link to the health of their Families, and when Women prosper, their Children and spouse will.

Today, over 600,000 women in the developing Countries have a 1 in 65 risk of dying from pregnancy or Childbirth-related causes during their lives, compared to the 1 in 2,125 risk of women in developed Countries. This risk also extends to Children. By some estimates,  90% of babies will not live to see their first birthday, older Children do not fare much better their mothers, they often face reduced access to nutritious food, education and health.

ADOLESCENT SEXUAL   HEALTH

Adolescent Sexual and reproductive health issues and challenges in Africa are daunting; teenage pregnancy, Sexually transmitted Infections and illegal abortions, high and early entry into sexual activity and lack of adequate information about safer sex. Sexually active adolescents face several risks- as well as possibly contracting HIV and other STIs. There are unwanted pregnancies, unsafe abortions, high-risk deliveries, reduced educational opportunities and poor economic outcomes. Improving adolescent reproductive health and reducing teenage pregnancies are essential ingredients of responsible policy making.

Because young people often face barriers in trying to get information or care they need, adolescent reproductive health problems is in the increase in the Country.

INVESTING IN ADOLESCENT GIRLS

The Situation of adolescent girls is particularly complex. deep-rooted traditions of patriarchy and the subordination of women and girls make it difficult for adolescent girls to realise that Rights in many parts of the World. But by redirecting investments to programmes specific to adolescent Girls and young Women, we can make a real difference. Numerous studies show that investments in adolescent Girls' development translate into significant long -term benefits for entire Societies.

One of the major influential figures in the World today is an adolescent Girl. Worldwide, there are 600 million Girls growing up in Developing Countries, which reflected the largest generation of Youth in history. The choices this generation of young women makes will shape their lives and a whole new generation of Boys and Girls.

Investing in an educated, healthy, skilled and empowered Girl today means she will have the tools to reinvest back into her Family, her Community and her World.
